Dr Daunis Auers
Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Latvia and Research Director at Certus think tank
Dr Auers studied at the London School of Economics (LSE) and gained his PhD at University College London (UCL). In the 2005-2006 academic year he was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and in 2014 a Baltic-American Freedom Foundation (BAFF) Scholar at Wayne State University in Detroit. His most recent book on the ‘Comparative Politics and Government of the Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the 21st Century’ was published by Palgrave Macmillan in London and New York in 2015. His most recent research projects have touched on demography, quantifying the economic impact of international students in Latvia as well as populism and party politics in Northern Europe.
