Dr. JOSEPH MENAKER

Dr. Joseph Menaker is a Latvian-born entrepreneur, scientist, and technology leader whose work has significantly advanced the defence and aerospace sectors. After an early career in economic research in Latvia and the United States, he co-founded ISP Optics Corporation, building it into a global supplier of high-performance infrared optics for military and commercial applications before its acquisition by LightPath Technologies. In 2009, he co-founded UAV Factory Latvia, which became a leading developer of Class 2 unmanned aerial systems and is now part of Redwire Corporation through Edge Autonomy. In 2024, Dr. Menaker co-founded the Latvian Military Technology, Drone and Robotics Association alongside former Latvian Minister of Defence Dr. Artis Pabriks, strengthening collaboration across Latvia’s defence innovation ecosystem. He currently serves on the boards of several international defence, aerospace, and technology organizations, supporting the development of advanced military capabilities and transatlantic security cooperation. In addition to his industry leadership, Dr. Menaker is dedicated to fostering the next generation of innovators through academic engagement and strategic mentorship in Latvia.
