Nils Ušakovs is the Mayor of Riga since 2009. Inhabitants of Riga have entrusted him to lead the capital of Latvia for the third time in a row. Nils is educated as an economist, has studied at the University of Latvia and at the University of Southern Denmark, worked as a journalist and deputy of the Saeima. Nils is a chairman of “Saskaņa” – the largest political party in Latvia. In his job as the mayor he stands for unchanged priorities: social support, accessible and qualitative education, security and people-friendly urban environment.
